Bridgestone’s Product Development Group in Akron, Ohio, is part of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO), a business unit of Bridgestone Americas, Inc.  Reporting into the BATO business unit are the company’s North American consumer tire businesses, the North American commercial tire businesses, and Latin American tire operations (consumer and commercial). Position Summary

The Front-End Developer collaborates with other developers to develop effective user interfaces for engineers.


  • Design, code, and test engineering computing systems
  • Modify, test, and troubleshoot existing tools and utilities
  • Monitor and perform maintenance on existing systems
  • Produce and maintain documentation on system processes.




Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering degree with the 2 years of experience including:


  • Significant understanding of vanilla Javascript as well as Javascript web frameworks such as React/Redux, Angular, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with ES6, HTML5, Css3, and CSS Preprocessors
  • Experience architecting Single Page Applications (SPAs) using common design patterns


In addition to the above, the preferred candidate also possesses the following skills:


  • The ability to write code in one or more programming language such as Javascript, C#, or Python to automate tests for the full solution stack (i.e. UI, App Layer, API, Web Service, batch jobs, etc.)
  • Experience in the development of test automation using tools and frameworks such as Jasmine, Selenium RC/Webdriver, and REST/JSON API
  • Working knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development cycle (e.g. coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous deployment, and test suite development/maintenance)
  • Familiarity with the application software development cycle in an Agile environment
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum models
