  • Position Summary

    As a Bridgestone Human Resources Business Partner, you have the opportunity to work in close connection with your business and provide strategic thought leadership. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) reports to the HR Director for Specialized Operations and performs human resources related duties primarily supporting field based teammates located within your direct Distribution Center. This position may carry out all transactional and strategic responsibilities related to HR in some or all of the functional areas: employee relations, training, talent acquisition, compensation, affirmative action and employee engagement. An ideal candidate would have a customer/client focus, be able to build business partnerships, have a track record of engaging with teammates at all levels of the organization and provide thought leadership to the Distribution Center leadership team. This position is located in Woodridge (Chicago) supporting a Bridgestone Tire Distribution Center.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform advanced employee relations, coaching and counseling in order to support a high performance and dynamic culture
    • Development and implementation of processes and systems to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
    • Provide HR leadership and expertise to Distribution Center leadership on both strategic initiatives and tactical issues
    • Support the implementation and execution of the Integrated Talent Management System (ITMS) annual processes
    • Workforce Management and Human Capital planning support to ensure that assigned locations have the right level of talent at the right time
    • Provide on-going support to teammates at location providing HR assistance as needed
    • Administer employment processes, including but not limited to, employee selection, promotions, terminations, benefits and compensation administration, performance management and development
    • Support and develop internal talent development programs and/or university recruitment initiatives to develop a talent pipeline
    • Conduct employee investigations as necessary
    • Resolve teammate questions or concerns, working to establish credibility and trust with the team as well as navigating ambiguous situations
    • Partner with the HR Director and other business leaders to provide strategic support on key HR initiatives
    • Serves as subject matter expert and contact for teammates and management regarding human resources policies, programs and initiatives

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • BS degree required; MS/MBA preferred
    • 5+ (five) years direct Human Resources Generalist experience (experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus)
    • Proficiency with MS Office applications
    • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
    • Ability to work through ambiguous and unique situations
    • Collaborative HR professional with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of internal customers

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PHR, SPHR or equivalent strongly desired
    • Proficiency with SAP HR
