    Position Summary

    The Director of Business Development for the Consumer Integrated Tire Division is a key role in preparing our organization for breakthrough growth. This role must first understand the business strategy and then apply the strategy to identify and pursue potential targets in the market. The Director of Business Development will be tasked with finding the new business opportunities that will help prepare the organization for the future and deliver transformative partnerships and acquisitions. In partnership with the Executive Director of Strategy and Business Development, the Director of Business Development will also be tasked with presenting these activities via the long term business strategies.


    • Identify synergistic opportunities for relationships with start-ups, industry organizations, academic institutions, tech incubators, and established automotive firms 
    • Partner with the Open Innovation technical team to coordinate our efforts while ensuring strategic alignment 
    • Systemically evaluate and provide recommendations for acquisition or partnership of early/mid stage startups sourced from Venture Capital firms and report those findings to the leaders of multiple business units 
    • Evaluate, develop the financial analysis for, and pursue Mergers & Acquisitions that deliver against core business strategies 
    • Serve as the key industry expert and owner of data sources pertaining to IoT (Internet of Things) and the impact of telematics and data trends on our four business units (Replacement Tires, Original Equipment, Bridgestone Retail Operations, and our CFNA bank)


    • Bachelor's degree in related field
    • 8 years of relevant experience in the business, strategic development, project leadership, finance, marketing and/or business development field 
    • Strong communications ability (written and oral)
    • Excellent corporate financial acumen 
    • High level proficiency in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
    • MBA-Preferred 
    • Venture Capital and/or Investment Banking experience-Preferred
