    Position Summary

    ​​The Product Validation Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the execution of experimental control plans for Bridgestone Americas new product development. This role is responsible for training and leading other engineers to develop their testing and validation skillset.​

    Responsibilities

    • Leads efforts and/or projects with substantial risk, business impact, and complex engineering challenges. 
    • Leads and mentors other engineers, and disseminates new engineering knowledge throughout the organization.
    • Serves as a leading expert in their area(s) of expertise, consulting across the organization to advance business goals, and enhancing engineering expertise.
    • Accountable to resolve complex problems that typically require a cross-discipline response.
    • Proposes new initiatives that will provide significant “breakthroughs” or benefits to the business.
    • Leads the application of new technologies.
    • Develops new products.
    • Builds significant professional networks and brings new technical knowledge into the organization.
    • Acts as the “go to” person to address technical solutions in a highly specialized area of engineering.
    • Possesses broad knowledge of multiple processes and/or engineering disciplines, augmented with significant experience.
    • Pursues patents if appropriate given the nature of the work.
    • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of both the key variables impacting the business success of Bridgestone Americas, and an understanding of the key business issues of the customers they support.
    • Takes an ROI perspective in all their efforts and acts in the long- term interest of Bridgestone and its customers.
    • Navigates the organization in order to get a process/product/technology/system approved.
    • Leads major, multiple, interrelated projects. Establishes the workplan for the project(s), identifies resources, manages client expectations, leads the design effort, and ensures the delivery of expected results on time and on budget.

    Qualifications

    Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 7 years of experience or a Master’s Degree and 5 years of experience.

     

    Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 10+ years of experience or a Master’s Degree and 8 years of experience
