    Position Summary

    ​The Innovation Lead is responsible for leading and operationalizing the Bridgestone Americas Innovation Framework. This individual's responsibilities will focus on technology, business and solutions innovation with the scope of enterprise-wide, cross functional collaboration and initiatives that will often encompass end-to-end analysis and future state redesign efforts. The Innovation Lead will frequently interact with senior leadership and major stakeholders with Technology & Business to ensure alignment and healthy execution of Bridgestone's innovation strategy. The Innovation Lead will also steer position BSAM efforts relative to Bridgestone Corporation's Global Innovation efforts.

    Responsibilities

    • Operationalize BSAM Innovation Framework and associated governance structure
    • Manage associated budget and resources related to top priority initiatives together with Program Management
    • Initiate ideas aligned to enterprise focus areas into Innovation Framework for progression through the defined pipeline and per expected success rate
    • Develop KPIs and metrics to actively monitor innovation pipeline health and focus area coverage
    • Engage/establish innovation culture within SBUs and functions
    • Support acceleration of Bridgestone Americas Big Bets through Innovation Framework and support project team readiness for stage-gate entry, progression and exit
    • Evaluate, champion and implement innovation best practices including the innovation go to market (Commercialization) process and needed structure in conjunction with project leads and experts
    • Provide access to and promote innovation tools and techniques across the enterprise
    • Champion the appropriate auditing and analysis of the innovation process effectiveness and provide visibility of results and needs to leadership
    • Build relationships regionally and globally with business partners
    • Serve as BSAM member and window on global innovation committees to ensure global process synchronization and communication
    • Oversee all needs to ensure the effectiveness of the Innovation Council and Innovation Steering groups including Executive Committee/Steering Team/Working Teams needed updates and issue escalation

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing or related field
    • MBA strongly preferred
    • 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in Innovation, growth initiatives, market expansion or related areas
    • Experience leading/managing others
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent presentation skills to audiences of various sizes and levels of authority
    • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize workload and collaborate across multiple business units
    • Proven skills with building strong and lasting business relationships requiring extraordinary collaboration
    • Ability to engage and influence others in all levels of organization toward common business objectives
