    Position Summary

    The Litigation Paralegal reports directly to Senior Counsel of Litigation and works in a team approach with the members of the litigation group to manage a docket of litigation and pre-suit claims involving the company in the United States and Canada. While it is not a primary role for the position, this individual will also be responsible for independently analyzing, negotiating and resolving some pre-suit claims.  At any given time, the docket may include product liability, personal injury, premises liability, asbestos/toxic tort, environmental, real estate, class action and commercial litigation and claims.


    • In conjunction with counsel, participates in all aspects of litigation discovery, including.
      • Researches and collects information to respond to interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production of documents, and third-party subpoenas.
      • Coordinates inspections and depositions.
      • Reviews and summarizes medical records.
    • Independently investigates and negotiates directly with claimants to resolve pre-litigation property damage and personal injury claims.
    • Assists in-house and outside counsel in all aspects of management of litigation.
    • Attends settlement discussions and mediations as needed.
    • Maintains and updates individual case status and records.


    Required Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree, paralegal degree and/or 6+ years of relevant experience as a litigation paralegal.
    • Superior written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Occasional travel (<10% of time) may be required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with e-discovery and/or claims management is preferred
