  • Position Summary

    The Assembly Technician is responsible for Dealer Retread Equipment manufacturing and related processes. This includes the processes and accountabilities for equipment assembly, finishing, crating, and plant / corporate key performance indicators (KPI's).

     

    Responsibilities

Collaborate with the support team to ensure alignment with strategic intentions in an effort to provide support and ensure a safe work environment, environmental compliance, cost management, while providing superior quality products and services to continually improve customer satisfaction managed through a systematic approach.

    3. Promote team focus with an emphasis on individual accountability and a culture of safety and quality while striving to achieve production goals and expectations of the team, plant, and corporate initiatives.

    4. Take ownership of our Self-Directed Work Team and demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication, leadership, and time management skills to plan resource allocations to meet assembly plan.

    5. Align and inspire teammate participation in all team related activities to include self-directed work teams, lean manufacturing, Gemba, kaizen teams, safety teams, subcore process teams, Fundamental Safety Requirements, etc.

    6. Responsible for the build, set-up, and calibration of mechanical/electrical/pneumatic assemblies, final equipment verification / validation, and final packaging of equipment and service parts according to documented drawings, electrical schematics, process work instructions, and quality plans. To include new equipment assembly and certified used equipment assembly.

    7. Competent in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/pneumatic assemblies.

    8. Responsible for finishing operations to include; 5 stage pre-treatments, blasting, wash bay, cure ovens, kremlin paint system, distiller, filler and body work, respirator training.

    9. Support and assist Engineering in design, testing, and verification of new proto-type equipment and ensure accurate work instructions and drawings are in place.

    10. Responsible for pulling, staging and documentation of Production ID's (PID's) for the assembly process to include maintaining supplies and WIP quantities.

    11. Certifications and safe operations of material handling equipment (Lifts, Jacks & Cranes, Fork Trucks).

    12. Programming parameters of computers, drives, PLCs, and flash cards and basic understanding of labeling systems and software.

    13. Use the necessary power and hand tools to complete assembly process and crate parts and equipment for damage free shipments. (Ex: disk grinders, torque tools, drill presses, multi-meters, impact wrenches, hand drills, overhead crane, lifting devices)

    14. Promote positive impacts of corporate citizenship and sustain brand image by staying informed of community and governmental activities, to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

     

    Qualifications

    1. Associates or Technical degree required

    2. Three to five years manufacturing, electrical, or electronics experience preferred.

    An ideal candidate would have:

    a. Competent working knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics, 3D modeling, and assembly work standards.

    b. Working knowledge of mechanical systems.

    c. Competent working knowledge in industrial 120-480 volt, ac & dc, 3 phase, and single phase live electrical systems and troubleshooting of these systems.
