    Position Summary

    The position will be responsible for partnering with the organization to ensure the financial reporting initiatives are properly executed and in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS. The position will focus primarily on preparing and consolidating financial data, assisting in the IFRS implementation, supporting the team with accounting research and various other projects as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and excellent organization and communication skills. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting Policy and Procedure, under the Controller, within the External Financial Reporting department.

    Responsibilities

    Integral part of the External Financial Reporting team

    • Prepare and review complex consolidation of various financial data
    • Review account balances for reasonableness while assessing the proper accounting treatment
    • Conduct technical accounting research and assist in developing policies to create a more efficient and effective control environment
    • Form strong interactive relationships with internal teammates by listening, clarifying, and responding
    • Ad hoc project work as needed

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Accounting, Finance, business or technical related bachelor's degree
    • At lease 2-5 years of work experience
    • Possess an advanced understanding of US GAAP
    • Thorough understanding of financial statement preparation
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within tight deadlines including integrating resources effectively and anticipating needs to proactively resolve them
    • Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail
    • Inquiring mind with ability to learn, build knowledge, ask questions, challenge the status quo, and be accountable for their own work
    • CPA License or certification in process

     

    Preferred:

    • Public accounting experience
    • Exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley environment
    • Exposure to IFRS
    • Exceptionally strong analytical and evaluation skills
    • Self starter than takes initiative to complete tasks with minimal direction or guidance
    • Highly effective communication skills (verbal, listening, and written)
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
