    Bridgestone Bandag manufactures, markets and sells medium and heavy-duty truck tires for the original equipment and replacement markets in North America.  Bridgestone, Firestone and Dayton brand truck tires are available through more than 2,500 dealers and truckstops - more places than any other brands.  In addition, Bandag manufactures retreading materials and equipment for its dealer network, which produces and markets retreaded tires and provides tire management services at more than 1,600 locations in North America.  Most of the nation's larger fleets rely on Bridgestone or Firestone commercial tires and Bandag retreads for superior fuel economy, long tread life and low cost per mile.  The Bandag manufacturing plant in Griffin, Georgia is located 40 miles south of Atlanta and was established in 1976.

     

    Position Summary

    Multi-crafted maintenance technician capable of repairing and maintaining all plant equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoot and problem solve to maintain continuous operation of plant equipment and building services
    • Prioritize call and equipment repairs for optimum plant uptime
    • Troubleshoot equipment problems quickly and accurately to determine the root cause
    • Share plant specific equipment knowledge, technical skills, and work practices to other technicians
    • Take action to immediately address issues where serious equipment damage or long periods of downtime might occur
    • Work safety, following all policies and procedures
    • Sharpen ability to assess and make decisions to resolve issues regarding safety, quality, and downtime of equipment, with minimal supervision
    • Provide leadership to the assigned shift, if necessary
    • Effectively repair equipment the first time, and with little assistance from others
    • Communicate issues to plant management staff

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
    • Knowledgeable in some or all of the following: hydraulics, pneumatics, basic mechanical (gearboxes, conveyors, cylinders, etc.), basic electrical (motors, drives, wiring, limit switches, etc.) and controls
    • Basic familiarity with PLC
    • Building services (HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers)
    • Basic welding and cutting
    • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, CMMS)
