    • Partner with management to manage capital and expense projects including but not limited to equipment upgrades, adding new equipment, modification of existing equipment, or process improvements related to the manufacturing of products for tire, roofing and industrial fabric components for the BOSS.
    • Supports the oversight and management of capital projects including by not limited to electrical and mechanical installation of new equipment, modification of existing equipment and improvements related to manufacturing components.
    • Design, write specifications, purchase, and install and start-up new equipment to meet the plant's business objectives.
    • Provides direction and support for employees and contractors assigned to improvement projects. Partners with Maintenance Management and Maintenance Teams to maintain and meet department goals for downtime frequency,
    • Perform monthly safety audits in the areas of contractor work areas, lockout/tagout, and Near Miss Hidden dangers.
    • Supports management to control spending of the yearly capital and expense budget targets. Maintains plant's high voltage electrical distribution.
    • Develops and implements a yearly plan to meet the business objectives in the areas of safety, quality, production/productivity and maintenance support.
    • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment and control problems to keep production equipment operational.
    • Prepare design reviews, budgets, schedules, drawings, and scopes of work for project implementation and provide the necessary information/project documentation and training for emergency maintenance and preventative maintenance crews.
    • Write, develop and program PLCs. Assist with specifying, installing, start-up and operation of A/C inverter drives and D/C drives including Allen-Bradley (PLC 2 and 5, Control Logix), Mitsubishi, Siemens and General Electric.
    • Support Ethernet IP communications, power distribution and equipment including sizing transformers, electrical feeders and distribution gear for equipment loads from 120 up to 13,800 volts.
    • Utilize creativity and innovation to achieve overall objectives through defining and executing an operating strategy that helps the Plant meet or exceed its goals and metrics. ​
    • Assist maintenance and engineering through support of industrial controls systems to increase equipment uptime.
    • Support engineering on installations of new equipment or modification of existing equipment. 
    • Interface with various groups within the organization as necessary to improve the awareness of equipment issues.
    • Perform rollout activity to support equipment upgrades/modifications
    • Assists with the training of operators and maintenance employees as required on new and/or modified equipment changes. 
    • The position provides assistance in the development and implementation of a yearly plan to meet the business objectives in the areas of safety, quality, production/productivity, and maintenance support.


    • Requires a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and at least 5 years electrical control systems experience in a manufacturing work environment writing, developing, programming, installing and upgrading PLC's for equipment and machinery.
    • Experience with PLC’s including but not limited to Allen-Bradley (PLC 5, Control Logix), Siemens, and General Electric; and a working knowledge of Ethernet IP communications, power distribution equipment including sizing transformers, electrical feeders, and distribution gear for equipment loads from 120 up to 13,800 volts.
