  • Position Summary

    Supervise the assigned shift, leading the team to meet the metric goals that drive financial success in the facility, insuring that all resources (human, equipment, supplies, etc.) are best utilized to meet the requirements of the Company.  Accomplishes shipping/receiving objectives by orienting, training, assigning, coaching and communicating job expectations. Creating an environment for delivering results, meeting internal and external customer’s expectations and maintaining positive teammate relations during day-to-day operation.  Motivates and encourages at the individual and team levels to ensure set productivity targets are met.  Improves shipping/receiving operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.


    • Drive a proactive safety culture that recognizes and eliminates hazards. Maintain and update safety IIP program, lead teammate safety involvement activities, ensure compliance to plant safety programs, investigate incidents and implementation of safety countermeasures.
    • Model leadership consistent with the Bridgestone Essence, prompting performance results and high morale.
    • Work with Cross Functional Teams (Planning, Logistics, and Customer Service) on daily opportunities and counter measures for Shipping/Receiving related items.
    • Prioritize daily team activities around customer needs, including On-time Shipment, Shipment Accuracy, and Freight Damage Prevention.
    • Assist with 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
    • Provide daily department status, performance to KPIs and anticipated risks.
    • Monitor and maintain accurate inventories.
    • Instruct, coach, train and guide teammates.
    • Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders
    • Manage department administrative activities, including attendance management, disciplinary action, and performance plans.
    • Maintain good communications regarding requirements, changes, etc.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.


    • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business Management preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor or leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
    • Demonstrated ability to assume ownership of the process and drive improvement in a team setting.
    • Must have ability to read, comprehend and complete paperwork, perform mathematical computations using a calculator and operate a forklift.
    • Flexibility to work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts and weekends as required.
    • Effective computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Experience with inventory software, SAP preferred
