    Position Summary

    As a Commodity Manager, Bridgestone Retail Operations, this individual will lead all aspects of Strategic Sourcing and optimizing total value and quality for the assigned spend. In conjunction with impacted stakeholders, this position is responsible to execute and deliver optimal value in meeting business requirements, managing supplier relationships and subsequent supplier performance.

    Scope of assignment includes but not limited to ensuring data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, sourcing award, implementation across various functional areas, contract administration and compliance monitoring for assigned categories as applicable.

    Working with the appropriate functional team members, the Commodity Manager will provide leadership and oversight for the direct or indirect assigned categories within Bridgestone Retail Operations


    • Manage procurement process for designated categories, reduce the total cost of ownership while increasing overall value
    • Engage the supply base and internal partners to identify and implement supply optimization strategies, operational strategies and cost reduction initiatives
    • Provide procurement support to all functional areas, ensuring procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business requirements
    • Analyze market trends and report substantial issues / resolution plan(s) to management if applicable
    • Develop and implement strategies that meet and support he business objectives (i.e. commodity & supplier strategies, projects as applicable)
    • Resolve issues related to safety. quality, cost, delivery
    • Manage and enhance supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts impacting quality, cost, delivery and service, in support multiple locations and/or functional areas


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or related area required; advanced degree preferred
    • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
    • Talent in negotiations and networking
    • Experienced in collecting and analyzing data; aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
    • Experience in automotive parts and services preferred
    • Innovative and creative mindset enabling the ability to adapt to the needs of the business and changing business environment
